The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website faced a technical glitch, causing it to be down for more than eight hours.

The outage affected the ticket booking process for users, leading to frustration and complaints.

Users took to social media to express their grievances and seek information about refunds.

IRCTC acknowledged the issue on platform X and assured users that their technical team was working to fix it.

During the outage, IRCTC advised users to use PRS counters or web service agents like Make My Trip and Amazon for ticket bookings.

IRCTC was established in 1999 by the Ministry of Railways to upgrade, professionalize, and manage catering and hospitality services.

The PSU has five zonal offices and ten regional offices across India.

IRCTC also offers budget hotels, special tour packages, and comprehensive travel information for passengers.

Despite the inconvenience, IRCTC's prompt response in addressing the issue showcased its significance in the Indian Railways ecosystem.
