KKR has suffered another blow as key pacer Lockie Ferguson is ruled out of IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury.
Ferguson, who was traded to KKR in an all-cash deal, picked up 12 wickets in 13 games last season.
The right-arm fast bowler had been complaining about his back ever since playing for the Plunket Shield for Auckland a few weeks ago.
Captain Shreyas Iyer is also likely to be ruled out of cricketing action due to a back injury.
KKR will also miss Bangladesh cricketers Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das due to the Ireland series.
Ferguson was supposed to land in Kolkata on March 26 but after his injury there is no clarity on his availability.
Kiwis bowling coach Shane Jurgensen confirmed Ferguson's injury after the training session.
KKR's IPL 2023 Squad includes Nitish Rana, Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and more.
This injury is a big blow to KKR's chances in IPL 2023, but they still have a strong squad and will fight hard.
KKR fans will be eagerly waiting to see if Lockie Ferguson will be fit to play in the latter part of the tournament.
