5 Records created in India vs Australia Test Series Day 2
India vs Australia Test: Greetings, cricket lovers! I hope you’re all having a great day so far. Today, we’re going to talk about the recent events that took place during the India vs Australia Test series, held at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
If you’re a fan of cricket, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to miss this. Day 2 of the series ended earlier today, and it was indeed a memorable day for the Indian team. Captain Rohit Sharma completed his century, and all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel scored a fifty each. These efforts helped India finish with 321/7 at the end of the second day.
The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, now has a century in all three formats of international cricket as a batter and as a captain. He made history by becoming the first Indian captain to achieve this feat and the first-ever cricketer to score a hundred in T20I, Test, and ODI as a captain and a player. Rohit scored 120 runs off 212 balls in the first innings against Australia. Unfortunately, he was dismissed soon after the new ball came into play.
Axar Patel proved himself as a reliable all-rounder by scoring a half-century in the first innings. He then joined hands with Jadeja to trouble the Australian bowlers, adding 81 runs for the eighth wicket. With his half-century, Patel now owns the record for the highest score by a batter at number nine in Tests at the VCA Stadium.
Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel have set a new record for the eighth-wicket partnership in Tests at the VCA Stadium. Their partnership of 81 runs so far has broken the previous record of 59 runs between Wriddhiman Saha and Zaheer Khan against South Africa in 2010.
