Cricket World Cup 2023 Schedule: The 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 scheduled to take place from 5th October 2023 to 19th November 2023, will be hosted entirely by India.

This marks the first time India will host the ICC World Cup as the sole host nation, having previously co-hosted tournaments in 1987 (with Pakistan), 1996 (with Pakistan and Sri Lanka), and 2011 (with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh).

Originally, the event was planned to be held from 9th February to 26th March 2023. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates were rescheduled to October and November 2023.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Format

  • In the upcoming 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, a total of ten teams will be participating, mirroring the team count from the 2019 edition. The tournament will adopt a format reminiscent of the 1992 and 2019 cricket world cups, featuring a round-robin style of play. Under this format, each team will face off against all the other teams in a randomized order.
  • Following the round-robin stage, the four highest-ranked teams will proceed to the semi-finals, where they will compete for a spot in the final. Ultimately, the top two teams from the semi-finals will clash in the grand finale to determine the champion.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualification

  • The 2022-2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League matches will feature the top eight teams, with host India being among those who qualify automatically. The remaining two teams will be chosen to participate in the tournament.
  • The following teams have successfully qualified for the 2023 Cricket World Cup: India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand. These teams have advanced to the prestigious tournament.
  • Meanwhile, the remaining teams, namely Sri Lanka, Scotland, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Oman, and the Netherlands, have qualified for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. From this qualifier, two teams will emerge victorious and secure their place in the 2023 World Cup.
  • Update: Sri Lanka and Netherlands are qualify for 2023 World Cup.
